What Truth Can be Accepted When It Begins with Deceit?
Claiming to be in one place when a historical event happens is one thing, but when documents proving otherwise are available maybe the story should change back to the facts. This is the matter of myths, legends, fairly-tale, deceit, and bold face lies, they have no historical evidence to support their claims.
Example: If meticulous Catholic Church Records of missionary activities exist stating that a person was at one location at a specific time, then where was that person? Was she 1750 miles away from that location for over a millennium? If meticulous Catholic Church Records of missionary activities documents a specific group off people to be in one location (say the Lake Huron and Lake Erie area) for well over a century, then how can that same people claim to be in another location 1750 miles away for over a millennium? That is the problem with myths, legends, fairly-tale, deceit, and bold face lies, eventually FACTS come out that refute the myths, legends, fairly-tale, deceit, and bold face lies.
Here is the problem for academics: When myths, legends, fairly-tale, deceit, and bold face lies are found out to be false and contradicts two centuries of academic thought, how is it corrected? Do the academics allow the myths, legends, fairly-tale, deceit, and bold face lies, to stand just to protect their esteemed colleagues of the past and present or do they have the integrity to expose the myths, legends, fairly-tale, deceit, and bold face lies?
How can anyone trust a claim of a people when they begin their story with a myth, legend, fairly-tale, deceit, and a bold face lie? How can the rest of their story be believed when it is built upon the myths, legends, fairly-tale, deceit, and bold face lies? A mass delusion is founded upon the premise that a group of people want to believe something so badly, that they accept the myths, legends, fairly-tale, deceit, and bold face lies as their reality. It becomes their reality and they pass down that reality to their children and grandchildren and the mass delusion grows to legendary proportions and takes on a life of its own. That does not make it based in actual reality because it is based on a mass delusion of a purported reality.
What happens when one people group claims a history built on myths and legends and then hold that history up for scrutiny and the myths and legends are found wanting? What happens when academics have accepted the myths and legends as facts for over two centuries and are confronted with indisputable meticulous Catholic Church Records of missionary activities and it disproves long held beliefs that the myths and legends purported? Can the academics separate their previously held beliefs (religion) and come down out of their ivory towers and admit they were wrong?
This is the problem with myths, legends, fairly-tale, deceit, and bold face lies, people get caught up in the story and forget to apply the scientific method. Sometimes there is no nuance, sometimes there is no massaging the facts. It is imperative for the use of the scientific method to be applied when weeding out myths, legends, fairly-tale, deceit, and bold face lies so that the facts are presented, no matter how damaging the facts may be to one party, group of people, or academia.
