1792, October 12: Dispersal of the Indian Party Collected for War - There had been a warning from the Governor of Tennessee that 300-500 hostile Indians were ready to go to war but the intercession of several headmen led to the dispersal of the warriors.
"In consequence of letters received from Erquaka otherwise the bloody fellow and the Glass dated on the 10th instant at the Lookout Mountain Town informing that they with the assistance of John Watts & other headmen had prevailed with the party that were collected for war to disperse and go peaceably to their hunting." - http://wardepartmentpapers.org/s/home/item/43673
