Brothers we the warriors Called a meeting at the wish of you to Talk we gathered together here in Our beloved Town listen? Attention to your Talks which we think well of we are happy the great man above has put it in your mind to look toward us with pitty we are glad you have heard of the Distress we are in. Owing to the Unruly people over the mountains that you are willing to adres and rectify the dispute Between your people and our own to Establish a lasting peace is our herts Desire we are willing to meet the commissioners as you Desire.you mention French Broad as a proper place for holding the Treaty, this place we look on two nigh the people that have injured us. We therefore point out & make Choise of Sinckaa or hopewell on the keowee river as the properest place, thare are the benches and tobacco which your beloved men & ours made use of at the last Treaty- Therefore it is most agreable for us to meet you thare the commisioners of the great congress told us at the Treaty of Hopewell that we should in three month Again hear from them, and now when you & others we hope the talks will be strait, we will put a stop to any effusions of blood on our part we ar now Done, only we beg you to give us timely notice that we may be in rediness, I expect you will have plenty of provisions all as there will be the promises of warriors of this Nation at the Treaty, you will receive this by our good friend Alex Daringood we the subscribers with great respect remain your Brothers

1794, March 10: Expenses on Indian treaties and presents - A statement of the gross sum of money which was expended by the United States in making the Creek treaty of New York, in August 1790. Includes presents which have been made to the Creek and Cherokee Indians since the said treaty, along with annual allowances. Expenses of the Creek treaty add up to $20,583. The presents made since the treaty add up to $22,279 for the Creeks and $18,217 to the Cherokees. - https://wardepartmentpapers.org/s/home/item/46116
