1773, June 1: Treaty of Augusta. Ceded Cherokee claim of 2,000,000 acres between Little and Tugaloo Rivers to the Colony of Georgia.
1830, June 1: Georgia declared all laws of the Cherokee Nation null and void. Georgia prohibited Cherokees from conducting tribal business, contracting, and testifying against U. S. citizens in court, or mining for gold.
