1793, January 14: Complaints & Threats Of The Cherokee Nation - Blount disputes the Cherokee claims to the land of the Cumberland settlements upon which they are threatening war against the inhabitants. He charges the Cherokee young warriors with stirring up the antagonism against the settlers and defends his summons of the militia to protect the settlers against Indian depredations.
