1792, February 17: Treat the Cherokees with Utmost Diplomacy - These are Knox's detailed instructions to Leonard Shaw, the temporary agent to the Cherokee nation. The Cherokees must be treated with utmost diplomacy to ensure that they don't ally themselves with the northern Indians.
