Captain Dutch is a Chickamauga Chief. Do not forget, there are NO "du Chat Nation" citizens allowed west of the Mississippi or they LOST their citizenship and identity.

1827, January 6:  

ARKANSAS TERRITORIAL PAPERS VOL XX – Page 358 – William Clark -

For the Satisfaction of the Tribes concerned I must request an intimation of the intentions of the Government in relation to the punishment intended to be inflicted on the Osage now in Confinement at Cantonment Gibson for the murder of the Cherokee in 1822.

I must observe that the Cherokee Chief, called Dutch left the Cherokees of Arkansas and formed a Settlement on the South Side of Red River in the Spanish dominions, composed of Cherokees, Delawares, Kickapoos &0-in the Course of last Year he killed an Osage at their trading house, and his party has taken off horses & one Osage and two of his men have been killed, as I have been informed.-they also took some horses from the White people. In this excursion two of Dutch's party & one Osage was killed.-! am under some apprehension that if those Banditts on the Spanish side of Red River are permitted to increase, our S.W. frontier will be harrassed by them.71
