In 1776, the Northern Tribes of various Confederacies came to the Lower Towns and Invited Chickamauga Chief Dragging Canoe and his Chickamauga Warriors to join them in a Confederacy to be established under the Iroquoian Confederacy Constitution.
Dragging Canoe, his brothers, and Warriors eagerly joined the Confederacy with the passing of Wampum Belts. That Confederacy continues to exist to this day with The Chickamauga Nation retaining all of the Rights and Privileges as a Tribe who joined the Confederacy.
