Attakullakulla and Oconastada refused to join the Western and United Indian Confederacy when in Council they declined to take up the Wampum War Belt when presented to them in 1776. Dragging Canoe immediately took up the Wampum War Belt and joined Tecumseh and the delegation from the Confederacy.
