Request for Senator Brian Schatz to Meet with The Chickamauga Nation
On Tuesday, September 21, the Washington DC office of Senator Brian Schatz informed me that I would have to go to the website for the Senator and fill out a request for his scheduler. The Office Staffer was informed that we are signatories of over 16 Treaties and article 12 of 7 Statute 83 requires this meeting. Below is the information from the request:
"We seek an immediate meeting with the Senator and the Committee on Indian Affairs.
We are a Federally Recognized Tribe. Both the Executive Branch and Legislative Branch have recognized The Chickamauga Nation. We are co-signers to over 16 treaties, have had land held in trust for us by the United States, annuities paid directly to us, have never been terminated and have had a continuous government since before the Declaration of Independence.
We met with the staff of Senator Hoeven on July 18, 2019 to be placed on the Serviced Tribes Roll as well to inform the Senate that we are at risk of continued ethnic Cleansing. We were dismissed to return home and gain academically verified research about our history and anthropology. We now have about 500,000 pages of academically verified research valued at tens of millions of dollars.
Since that meeting, where we requested to be placed on the Serviced Tribes Roll, we have had hundreds of our Citizens die from different causes all associated from not being on the Serviced Tribes Roll.
We will be posting this request on our Website.
I informed the staffer I would update this post within 48 hours
