As a minister I am always struck by how simple words become so powerful in the right moments in history.
As a Chickamauga, I often turn to history to shed light upon the horrors of mankind toward one another. Then, in one simple line from a jail in Birmingham, Alabama, light gets shed upon the inhumanity demonstrated against those of us the Doctrine of Discovery call "lesser than human" which these United States continues to promulgate with passion and pride.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the preacher, while sitting in a jail cell like the Apostle Paul writes, "We know through painful experience that freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed."
That is exactly the course the Treaty Tribe, The Chickamauga Nation has embraced. We are demanding the rights guaranteed to us by the 17 treaties we signed with the United States and 1 Treaty we signed as part of the Western Confederacy with the United States. Therefore: Dr. King, thank you for being willing to shine a light on the depravity of the continued heresy of Europeans and their Americanized Christianity against the Creator and the Creation against the blacks and Indians as being lesser than humans. This is heresy against the Creator, this is vile, this is ignorance, this is exactly how the United States government continues to embrace their Chickamauga Nation Problem.
