Description Congress instructs the Secretary of War to have a sufficient number of troops ready to protect the Cherokee and their hunting grounds, as a result of a peace agreement between the Cherokee Nation and United States on November 28, 1785. North Carolina and Virginia are asked to cooperate with the troops in enforcing the treaty.
